Andrew and Becky's Barn Wedding
Andrew and Becky’s wedding was located at Gildings Farm in Dorking. The lovely rustic wedding venue offered the perfect setting for a barn wedding. Gildings Barn was built in a lovely and peaceful setting surrounded by woodlands. The aged barn was stunning and the traditional oak framed beams added to the look and feel of the venue. The barn also had some nice vintage tools, equipment and a vintage horse cart and “The Granary” was a perfect spot for group photos, which are shown further in the blog.
Typical of Becky and Andrew’s style, the wedding was rustic, romantic and very enjoyable. With Becky having personal love for Disney, she added a subtle Disney theme, through using Alice in Wonderland details throughout her wedding. Becky also purchased some stunning Disney princess shoes! For Andrew he was into Marvel, and had a Marvel buttonhole, which showed then fun that this couple have. I hope you enjoy looking through their photos as much as I enjoyed capturing them. A personal favourite part of the day for me was the Mad Hatters tea party for the evening guests!

Being a wedding photographer based in Southampton, it is always enjoyable to travel to new places and see different locations around the UK. Becky stayed at Langshott Manor, which was where she had her bridal prep.
On arrival I was able to capture the excitement and the very happy and relaxed bridesmaids and family who were at the hotel. I was able to take photos of Becky’s shoes, dress and some nice personal pictures. The hotels grounds were also very nice, which meant we could take the dress outside for a few photos. I would also like to thank Becky’s mum for helping carry the dress outside for me! Andrew was very stylishly sent his wife to be some nice Champagne, which very well enjoyed by the bridal prep

Following the bridal prep I headed over to Gildings Barn to take some venue shots. Andrew and Becky had set up the barn beautifully and the Alice in Wonderland theme suited the barn nicely. The cake was very special and looked amazing. Becky had drawn the cake on paper before handing it to a very talented cake maker, who used Becky’s drawing to created a stunning wedding cake. Andrew had also made some items of his own for the wedding, which included a photo booth and the table plan. The idea was the each guest on the table plan would get one Polaroid photo each on at the handmade photo booth and they would be pegged onto the table plan. The couple asked if I would be able to take the photos and I was more than happy to help achieve this lovely idea. By the end of the reception everyone had a photo pegged to their name and Andrew and Becky had a lovely thing to keep from their special day

The ceremony took place outside on the lovely grounds, which were surrounded by woodlands. The sun remained on great form and we had a lovely outdoors ceremony. After the ceremony we allowed guests to take a relaxed break before capturing the group shots at The Granary. I saw that their were some hay bales in The Granary and decided to use these to have as props for children to sit on for the photos. Sticking with the barn theme I felt it would be a perfect fit for the style of the wedding. After group shots were completed guests headed inside and gave the opportunity to get some stunning couple photos with Andrew and Becky. The couple shots were very enjoyable to take and keeping with the relaxed theme, the natural and romantic shots below were captured.

Into the evening, traditional speeches were done and we moved into the evening celebrations. Andrew and Becky cut the cake, although I think Becky was very unsure about cutting into the perfectly created masterpiece she had designed. The couple went from cutting the cake into first dance, and the barn lights allowed for some lovely bokeh, which is a photographer term for the blurred out lights you can see. The lighting in the barn helped create the fairy tale shot of them during the first dance.

Andrew and Becky’s wedding was a lovely day from start to finish, and I enjoyed the style they created. The wedding was romantic, fun, relaxed and it showed throughout the photographs. Gildings Barn was a perfect venue for their wedding and the Alice in Wonderland theme was very well done.
As said by the Cheshire Cat In the story of Alice in Wonderland "Every Adventure Requires a First Step" and I wish Andrew and Becky all the best for their future
