Lloyd & Amber's Early Spring Wedding

Lloyd and Amber set their wedding date for 09.03.2017, which would mark the lovely, couples 10-year anniversary. The location of the wedding was in their hometown of Westham at St Mary’s Church in East Sussex. For Ambers wedding she was keen to have her bridal prep captured and she booked a full day package for the wedding photography.

Travelling down with my good friend and recommended videographer Chris Spice Films, we made our way to “Sunny Sussex” on a beautiful early spring morning. If you wish to see the wedding video, it is at the end of this blog post.

I got to the church half an hour before the bride to capture the photos of the stunning Sussex church, which look perfect in the afternoon sun with the added daffodils, it really was becoming a perfect spring wedding. Photos of Lloyd and son along with pictures of the groomsman were taken before the images of the guests arriving for the ceremony.

All the guests went inside the church and I was able to capture some lovely moments of the guests before the arrival of Amber. The bride arrived in a lovely vintage Citroen which fitted the wedding perfectly, especially with the colour red. After some shots of Amber arriving I headed inside the church for the ceremony to begin

Following the ceremony photographs of the guests congratulating the couple were taken outside. Lloyd and Amber walked down a tunnel of guests congratulating them to be met by a confetti popper at the bottom. They left in the vintage Citroen for Pevensey Castle where I would meet them for some couple photos.

After taking photographs at the castle we headed for The Lamb Inn, which was Lloyds workplace for the wedding reception. The setting was a very nice British Pub in Wartling. The British pub was booked out for Lloyd and Amber and the vintage pub looked great with the added music through a vinyl player. Guests were able to change the records if they pleased and from what I have heard this is something that the pub prides itself in offering to guests who go the pub.

The reception was nice and laid back and a magician was there to entertain the guests. After giving the guests time to relax I decided to use the vintage Citroen for some photos at the front of the pub. We had some fun laid back photos which were very well received by the guests and the happy couple before heading back inside for the evening to begin. With the evening in full swing Amber had a drawing done by a guests for them to put thumbprints on the picture to create a picture for their home.

After the amazing food was served, speeches began in a nice informal setting on what would become the dance floor for the evening. Speeches were very amusing and following them the cake was cut and the first dance began. Lloyd and Amber booked an acoustic singer to sing Jason Mraz, I won’t give up for their first dance. Following the dance, guests joined them on the dance floor and we finished the night with a sparkler shot at the front of the pub

Lloyd and Ambers wedding was lovely from start to finish and the early spring wedding was a perfect way to start the wedding season. As a Hampshire wedding photographer, who comes from Sussex it was a pleasure to capture their special day – Scott Gladwish Photography
